Our small class sizes mean that every child is known to us and receives close attention and support. As you can see from the virtual tours on our homepage, we provide two very stimulating and pleasant learning environments. APIS offers a first classinternational education for life.

Educated at Cambridge and London Universities in the UK, I have spent mostof my career in international education, a career which has spanned seven different countries. My wife, my young daughter and I are very happy in Chiang Mai, Thailand. We very much enjoy being part of this united and diverse educational community where we learn new things every day

Children are at the heart of American Pacific International School. They areour reason for being here. They need to feel that all who teach them really care, and know them well as individuals, that their teachers believe in theirability to succeed and have high expectations of them. Every student is special, and our role is to give each the support to become the best he or she can be.

Teachers work closely with students and their families to discover individualinterests and learning styles, to set and reflect on individual learning goals.

We aim to inspire our students with a passion for learning that will give them a sound foundation for successful careers, and for satisfying lives. In ourclassrooms, learning through the International Baccalaureate Primary YearsProgramme (IBPYP) is both challenging and fun.

At American Pacific International School, we teach through our curriculum theattitudes that bring both success in life and a sense of personal wellbeing: theability to feel empathy, self-confidence, a sense of belonging and responsibility.American Pacific International School gives its students opportunities to extendand apply their learning by demonstrating responsible behavior through positiveaction and service.

At American Pacific International School (Kindergarten), we provide an excellent educational program called Primary Years Program of International Baccalaureate Organization (IBOPYP) for young students ages 2 – 6 years old.

We are glad that you are interested in our school and hope you enjoy the time browsing our website. Our community members: students, parents and staff cooperatively strive to create a supportive and caring atmosphere that fosters physical and intellectual growth, self-discipline, and the development of positive self-esteem in each individual student. Staff members work together
with supportive parents and other community members to provide the best for our students.

We believe that students can achieve success and our staff always encourage children to be inquiring and engaged in their own learning

Our school goal is to teach young children how to become life long learners who are self–disciplined, internationally minded and self-motivated so that they can live happily and harmoniously in our ever-changing world.

I look forward to welcoming you to American Pacific International School (Kindergarten) and will be pleased to show you our lively classrooms and play areas.

Thai language and culture are an important part of our school community and I am proud to see how much our foreign staff and students are willing to learn as they study and as they participate in our celebrations of Thai festivals at APIS.

As Director of the MBC, I work closely with overseas staff and find my appreciation of their cultures increases every year as we solve problems together and work towards greater cross-cultural understanding.

The diversity of our community is one of our strengths. It is a pleasure for me to lead our Thai Staff in sharing our culture with you.

Something else I enjoy is working with our Support Staff – the administrative assistants, finance officers in Chiangmai, secretaries, cooks, cleaners, guards, and nurses – to ensure that every member of the APIS community receives the help they need when they need it. Every comment will be welcome and I guarantee that we will always do our best to provide positive experiences of APIS.

The position of Director of Student Life is a diverse, interesting and challenging role at APIS, providing a fascinating opportunity to shape students futures.

My areas of responsibility include Residential life, Community Service and Behavior Management. I also oversee Student Activities, the Classroom without Walls Week, International Day and the Athletics Department.

It is my belief that students need to have an educational, inspiring and varied experience at school, and I take pride in the enriching Residential, Activities and Community Service Program we are able to offer.

Since my appointment I have been supported by experienced, self-motivated and enthusiastic staff with high energy levels at APIS. We have seen some great progress and success this year.

My aim for this academic year is to further develop our Community Service Projects and extend them to the local community, further develop the already successful residential program and ensure that there are close links with the academic curriculum.

Thank you for visiting our website. As Admissions Director at American Pacific International School one of my most rewarding tasks is to walk around our campuses with potential students and their families, sharing with them the many strengths of the school and explaining the various programs that we run, the special cultural and leisure activities in which staff and students participate and enjoying with them the beautiful natural environment which surrounds the campus.

Later, of course, I am able to take pleasure in seeing how the shy young person, tentatively excited about the possibility of coming to school in such beautiful surroundings, acquires so many skills and contributes so much to our community: and I am privileged to share in their pride as they experience success.

I hope that you will find information here which inspires you to consider APIS the right choice for your child and that you will find time to visit us and let us show you all that the school has to offer.
