Welcome to the Elementary School at the American Pacific International School in Chiangmai.

At APIS our elementary students are engaged in the exciting  Primary Years Program ( IBPYP) designed by the International Baccalaureate Organisation.

We believe that learning should be fun and that part of our role as educators of young children is to instil a love of learning. We want all our learners to be actively engaged and involved fully in meaningful learning experiences.

The PYP is highly regarded and considered to be the foremost program for primary aged children in the world. The PYP has the wonderful effect of increasing student engagement and learning. Students in the PYP program learn to become effective thinkers and independent lifelong learners. The PYP is an inquiry-based program that promotes a passion for learning and trains young students to question, analyse and think. An inquiry-based program leads to deeper understanding by developing problem solving skills, which enhances academic achievement.

Literacy and numeracy skills are central to the PYP, with students being constantly stimulated to grow in these key areas. Regular assessment and constant monitoring allow our teachers to customise their lessons so that learning is optimised. English language acquisition is an area of expertise in our elementary school.

APIS offers an extensive after school program for all our students with a focus on developing the whole child. Learning to participate in team sports and other extra curricular activities supports a child’s habits for a healthy lifestyle.
